Education
- Promoting inclusive policies and attitudes among local employers.
- Advocating for those who have felt discrimination.
- Continuing to grow the list of Collin County businesses that provide inclusive benefits.
Political Awareness
- Meeting with elected officials to develop productive partnership opportunities.
- Hosting "Meet the Candidates" events prior to key Collin County elections.
- Publishing voter guides presenting candidate positions on LGBT issues.
- Educating officials on needs of LGBT community.
- Press releases on CCGLA activities and points of view.
- Promoting non-discriminatory attitudes in letters to the editor
Social Interaction
- Continuing activities to network members of the Collin County LGBT community including monthly social mixers, annual membership meeting, summer party barge on Lake Lewisville, and our annual holiday party.
- Community Service activities to lend a hand to Collin County community
- Supporting Youth First Texas Collin County
North Texas Equality Foundation
CCGLA administers the North Texas Equality Foundation,
a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization, which provides charitable services, educational programs, and scholarships to the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, and Straight Allies in the north Texas community in order to promote understanding, equality, and diversity. This is accomplished through NTxEF programs and partnerships with other non-profit organizations, local governments, schools, businesses, and churches.
